A collection of test files is easier to review when its structure matches the installation. For a government building with several work areas, the receiving team should be able to connect each required result with a labeled connection and an agreed acceptance criterion.
Agree on the index
Choose how files will be named, grouped, and referenced before testing begins. Include the identifiers needed to match installed labels and drawings. Have the responsible technical team define the required tests and result format for the scope. Keep incomplete or superseded results distinguishable from the final records so a reviewer does not have to guess which file applies.
Review coverage as well as results
Compare the record list with the connections included in the approved work. Investigate missing identifiers, duplicates, and unexplained exceptions. Ask the receiving reviewer to find a few sample results using only the proposed handoff package. Capture questions while the testing team is still available to resolve them. The presence of many files does not by itself demonstrate complete coverage.
Practical takeaway
Create an index that follows the installation. Organized evidence makes it easier to assess the work and gives future operators a usable reference after closeout.
